What are the best colleges in India for an MA offering English litrature?

I am looking for a college that aspires to train individuals who enter its portals to become useful and responsible citizens of the world.

The best university to do MA in English in India would be JNU. It is by far the best in terms of faculty, syllabi and exposure. Admission is through a competitive entrance exam.

The next rung of universities would be Delhi University, Jamia Milia Islamia Delhi and Jadavpur University Kolkata, University of Hyderabad.

Then there is the third rung which includes universities like EFLU, Pondicherry University, BHU.

There are several other central universities where English Masters is pretty good.
